Queens Plaza Residential Project - Tower B2 recently reached a major milestone by completing its Superstructure Topping Out. The QPRD B2 building is a 540,000 sq. ft., 43-story (plus Mechanical Equipment floors) structure, containing 550 residential units with rooftop amenity space, ground level retail, and a main lobby with a shared lobby to the Tower B1 building on the property. The project faced many challenges at the beginning with tight logistics which were further impacted by the MTA, due to its close proximity to the elevated train which led to a drastically reduced pick zone for the tower crane. Despite all of the challenges at the onset, the building maintained the schedule and the roof was poured approximately 5 weeks early. Thanks to a great project team -- starting from Preconstruction, Estimating, Purchasing, and on through Accounting, Insurance, Administrative and Field Management staff -- the project continues to move forward at a consistent pace.
